Aerodynamics comes from two greek words: aerios (concerning air), and dynamics (force). Aerodynamics is the discipline related to the study of forces and the resulting motion of objects in the air. Aerodynamics affects the motion of a large airliner, and from aerodynamics. Therefore, the basis of atmospheric flight is found on the study of aerodynamics, which is a branch of fluid mechanics. We start then giving the fundamentals of fluid mechanics in Section 1.1. Section 1.2 and Section 1.3 are devoted to the study of aerodynamics of airfoil.
